Review: Coyote Dreaming: Find Yourself While You Sleep

Coyote Dreaming: Find Yourself While You Sleep
Coyote Dreaming: Find Yourself While You Sleep by Steve Peek

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book Info: Genre: Non-fiction/Self-help/Dream Interpretation
Reading Level: Adult
Recommended for: Those who are interested in learning from their dreams how to achieve self-realization

My Thoughts: Wow, this book is really amazing! Peek mixes Platonic Solids, chakras, the zodiac, guardian angels, the Mayan calendar, and other elements together in a system to help achieve understanding of yourself and others through a 21-day program of working with dreams and what he calls the Coyote Stones (although they are actually just symbols printed on paper and taped together into the Platonic Solid shapes). It's something I found absolutely fascinating, and anyone who is interested in these ideas should definitely check out this book when it is re-released after being edited.

Disclosure: I received an e-book copy of this book as a gift from the author, as thanks for work I did on an earlier book. Later the author asked me to edit it for him. I have not been asked for a review, and I do not receive remuneration based upon sales. All opinions are my own.

Synopsis: Dreams are a forgotten path to self. A series of dreams destroyed the author's life. They eventually changed his perspective allowing him to understand why so many of us feel dissatisfied with life. The changing goes against basic precepts and concepts we hold as truth. It is a personal quest of mythic scale that each person must take for themselves. But first they must be shown a problem exists. Then they make the choice to change inside. Only by making internal changes can we change the world around us, or as Gandhi said, "Be the change." Coyote Dreaming shows how civilization is out of balance and a fundamental change of mind is necessary to allow many, for the first time, to understand psychological discomforts with which they have suffered their whole life. The same discomforts afflict tens of millions of people for the same reason: they do not fit into the hole society created for them. Coyote Dreaming provides a system that encourages dreams that tap into the unconscious to learn and explore ways to improve our life and the lives of those around us. Everything we need is in our dreams. All we have to do is listen.
